Seasonal Overviews:
Big Horn Sheep
Baby Big Horn Sheep.

Spring brings out the native wildflowers and announces the arrival of the migrant songbirds. Newborn of Bighorn Sheep and Wapiti (elk) dot the landscape. Local birds of prey, like Bald Eagles and Osprey, are hunting and rebuilding last year’s nests.

calypso-orchid
Time for photo close ups of the Calypso Orchid, Lady Slippers and Wild purple violet as some of the early season wild flowers can be found while out with your knowledgable local guide.

Summer brings out the Black bears looking for that rich source of buffalo berries to gorge on before winter hibernation sets in. Now is also the time to travel to the higher mountain valleys like the well known Maligne Lake area or Mount Edith Cavell’s cooler alpine meadows.

Autumn is an incredible time for walking through the falling leaves of the Poplar forest as the colors start to change. Beaver are actively cutting down the deciduous plants as food to be stored before winter freezes up their ponds.

Crosscountry Ski
Cross Country Skiing.

Winter trips not only have the wintering herds and other wildlife moving into the valley bottom but also include options like snowshoeing or x-country skiing in the dry powder snow of the Canadian Rockies.
